    Hi guys

    So I have build a Xamarin Forms application, that I now want to test on a physical iOS device. The debugger successfully run my program, but unfortunately I run into problems when I deploy my program on a physical iPhone.

    I did the following in order to deploy my app:

    1. Followed this tutorial in order to create a Free provisioning profile for my app (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/xamarin/ios/get-started/installation/device-provisioning/free-provisioning?tabs=windows) (successfully runs xcode 1 view app, and installs provisioning profile on phone)
    2. Switched xamarin to debug on a phyiscal device

    The bundle identifier naturally matches, and I have done the following to solve the issue:

    1. Deleted "CodesignEntitlements" from the .csproj

    Still no success. I'm curious why Xamarin asks for a code signing key, while I'm still just debugging..

    any help is much appreciated

    1. Ensure you select Debug|iPhone PropertyGroup.
    2. Don't delete CodesignEntitlements , set it to , no value.

    Ah yes, getting Xamarin to work on iOS..........welcome to HELL.

    You need an Apple Developer account to be on a device; even testing. They have a free one.

    Here a video, Apple has updated their website (cleaner) but the buttons and everything is about the same. Also I don't remember if this was for publishing or testing, but choose Developer not Release and all is the same...... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPCtq2whqg4

    Ignore the Entitlements. Out of scope

    You'll be in yourApp.iOS > [right click] > Properties (or Options on Mac) > goto "Bundle Signing"

    You'll want to setup a DEV Wild Card Certificate

    I have a free developer account, but i have no idea how i would create a DEV wild card certificate? - Is all this even necessary? I managed to deploy an iOS application for debug about 6 months ago, and it didn't require any significant effort.

    Can you try to deploy your application to device with Xcode first ?

    If the provisioning profile works fine in Xcode(Objective-C project) , it must be no problem in Visual studio .

    Yes, its no problem in xCode - but in Xamarin studio it is. I have done this a ton of times before (last time was like 6 months ago), so I know how it should be done. I even created a completely blank forms solution, and followed the documentation - Still the same! I'm running the latest version of both xCode and Xamarin studio.

    So basically, if you want to reproduce the issue. Update everything, create a blank solution and follow the official documentation on how to do free provisioning.
