can App Cert Kit check for static .lib?

    Question

  • I have some static win32 libraries, can the App Cert Kit check those libs to see if any non-Metro supported APIs are used?

    thanks!

  • If it can't directly, then create a dummy executable that links to those libs and then run it through the cert kit verifier.

  • No. Not really working.

There're a lot of APIs in the .lib. If I create app using some APIs, only those APIs will be linked into the app. So only those APIs will be checked.

Is there any other tool that could help checking .lib to see if it is a valid metro library? Or any suggestions ?

  • Not sure if this is workable for you, but you could build the lib as a dll (in a separate project). Add a dummy app that uses this dll, and run it through the verifier.
