Hardware changes after successfully submission RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

is it allowed to make hardware changes after the successfully submission. Is it still valid?

    For example..

    changing the CPU from Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2650 to Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2630.

changing the Controller if it is one from the same controller family. For example from Avago 9300-8i to Avago 9300-4i.

changing the network adapter if it is one from the same controller family. For example Intel Ethernet 700er series. From 10GBE to 20 GBE.

And can somebody explain me the additinal features for S2D Certification: Software Defined Data Center (SDDC) Premium /Standard

    Thank you !

    Cheers Olli

  • Hi Oliver,

if the driver which you want to test from WHQL is changed, you will re-run WHQL test.

the WHQL test is to test your driver and the corresponding hardware, not depend on other's hardware.

Therefore, if you install the same driver and it can also work in your system even you change something else hardware,

you don't need to re-run WHQL to get certification.
