Window store policies about notification RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

In our organization, we have a .NET application which is not Universal Windows app targeting retailer. Our clients uses the application daily basis.

Currently I am put up to develop app just to receive notification, and show notifications related to that .NET application. I building this as Universal windows app so I can run the app both in mobile and windows. Its mainly for the owner of the business to receive alerts about his business.

As per the Window store polices

Notifications sent from your app must relate to the app or to other apps you publish in the Store catalog, may link only to the app or the Store catalog listing of your other apps, and may not include promotional messages of any kind that are not related to your apps.

Can I not show the notification related to desktop app?

And also, as per the below policy

Your app must not communicate with local desktop applications (on Windows devices) or services via local mechanisms, including via files and registry keys.

Should I not start the app by clicking on the notification.

Note: This is my first development experience in windows.
