  • Hi

    Well, what is 'the file'?

There are literally thousands of different types possible - you want us to make a guess?

Is it only images you want to load/save to/from 'the file'?

Show the code you have so far.

  • Sounds like you need to invent a script that does what you want?

The script is a text file (or anything) that you save. The script is a list of the events you currently make happen in your application using a timer??? Or the next button??  Then you work through the events one at a time until done or repeat.

    So a script might be:

      Tab 1 30 secs
            show thisfilepath, thispicturebox1

      Tab 2 20 secs
            draw this, that

      tab 1 30 secs
            show anotherfilepath, thispicturebox1

That script is a text file you could save. It has commands show and draw that you make as sub routines to execute when called from the list of script text lines.

I assume you have a timer or a next button it is:

            count += 1
If count Is > thecounttime Then
                Select Case TheScriptText(count).txt
                    Case "MyShowSub"
'call routine to show the pic
                        MyShowSub (thisfilepath)
                    Case "MyDrawSub"
                End Select
            End If

    Lots of possibilities.

Can you copy an existing format like Microsoft power point etc?

How does your app know what to do now?

PS not a complete working example you have to invent it for your app.

  • First of all, what do you mean with Open a file. It is an old phrase which was first used by magnetic tape readers to read the definition part of the tape.

It was and is still in use because people did not change their words and so a doc or spreadsheet file which was read in memory was also done with the same phrase.

However, current files don't need that anymore. You point to them and read or stream them.
