SQL 2012 SP1 Task Name Missing from Maintenance Plan History RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have put lots of these in older versions of sql and task name always shows up.  This is my first 2012 SP1 install.

Here is a normal one from 2008/R2

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Have the same problem with SQL2012 SP2. The problem only appears in one off my Maintenance Plans though, which is strange! The  Maintenance Plan seems to do its job anyway. Backupfiles, bak and trn, are created.

    What is the solution?

  • Still can't find a solution for this.  Search on connect.microsoft.com is not finding anything.

  • When creating the Maintenance Plan task, unless a "Task Name" is specified (Properties on the specific task), no name will be displayed within the plans history.

  • Add the Task Name for each task. To do this, right click on each task ->properties->provide the 'Task Name' & save it.
