  • Hello JGO -JorgeGO,

    You may get error 0x139f (ERROR_INVALID_STATE) in the case when the device is roaming but the roaming policy disallows data roaming - error on a connect request sent to wwansvc. You can try to query and change the interface roaming policy via command 'netsh mbn get/set dataroamcontrol'.

    More details please see here.

    Best Regards,

    Michael

  • Probably I am doing something wrong, but still not working...

    Execute:

    netsh mbn show dataroamcontrol int=*

    Data roam control state information on interface Cellular:
    -------------------------------------
        All Host Profiles          : Home, partner and roaming carriers

    Execute again it

    netsh mbn connect interface="Cellular" connmode=name name=VodafoneProfile13
    Connect Failure: error 0x139f

    Do you believe it is not necessary inform in any place the PIN to connect it. When I connect by Windows 10 desktop, to unblock the SIM I need to fill the PIN number. and when I download the profile from the desktop the xml file contain

    <UserLogonCred>
       <UserName>vodafone</UserName>
       <Password>01000000D08C9DDF0115D1118C7A00C04FC297EB01000000C93C8575C879CE4DB181E4DFBE226AE3000000000200000000001066000000010000200000001275F7B8ABB4A67D349E233E1198B990B2A62CD3500E4D9DE71ACBAE8F35DFB2000000000E8000000002000020000000812DBABDDDC6A67B42F24803B179D4CC7FFC90BC1E792A2876EDCAE6113CA0E420000000045174BF44588D65DC232545FE87992AE7A236F187CEB7B9A8CA0E329C4077DD400000008B31D6C293B11197519ED7773063F5ADF9812B9CED5895DA2C347D2796FC522E56AF35F5F8D605ACD12A929F5CC2911CAF19B526B56E53E0ACBC4B09F0578AE9</Password>
      </UserLogonCred>

    But when I fill the profile xml file with this password (probably it is encrypted) It return

    netsh mbn add profile interface="Cellular" name="VodafoneProfile.xml"
    Add Profile Failure: Invalid Profile XML.

    So I don't know what I must to do...

    Please help me.

    THanks

    best regards

  • Hello JGO -JorgeGO,

    You need to run set command to allow roaming policy.

    netsh mbn set dataroamcontrol interface=Cellular profileset=all state=all

    May i know you have encountered the error when adding the original cellular profile?  The subscriber ID is highly important. Maybe this topic is helpful for you.

  • Yes, i have executed: netsh mbn set dataroamcontrol interface=Cellular profileset=all state=all

    subscriber ID it is correct, I have obtained it executing netsh mbn show interfaces

    There is 1 interface on the system:

    My profile is:

  • Hello JGO -JorgeGO,

    How did you get the SubscriberID and SimIccID? You can use following command to to get SIM card's info.

    Netsh mbn show ready *

    Have you tried to use MBBConnect.exe to help setup configurations for mobile broadband connection in IoT Core?

    Best Regards,

    Michael

    netsh mbn add profile: Done!
    netsh mbn connect: Fail!

    I believe the reason it is the same as this threat:

    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ea57fd8a-cce5-4fe5-8ac6-f98462a9db3e/unlock-sim-for-a-cellular-network-windows-10-iot-core-rs5?forum=WindowsIoT

    My SIM as you could see it is locked, we need unlocked using the PIN.

    This action it is so easy to do on Windows 10 desktop and I could unlocked without any problem. Also as I have shared on previous answers it is possible to get the desktop profile (let me share again):

  • Hello Jorge,

    Could you please tell me which provider of your SIM card and the APN?

    As mentioned in the document, APN depends on your SIM card’s provider.

    Best Regards,

    Michael

  • I have some doubts about it.. If I execute the powershell command

    netsh mbn show interfaces

    There is 1 interface on the system:

        Name                   : Cellular
        Description            : K5160
        GUID                   : {86152432-01CE-481E-BFE7-A643AEF8FEE6}
        Physical Address       : 98:97:b1:56:5b:56
        Additional PDP Context : No (Physical interface)
        Parent Interface Guid  : No parent
        State                  : Locked
        Device type            : Mobile Broadband device is removable
        Cellular class         : GSM
        Device Id              : 353098073317239
        Manufacturer           : Vodafone (Huawei)
        Model                  : K5160
        Firmware Version       : 21.313.21.00.11
        Provider Name          :
        Roaming                : Not roaming
        Signal                 : 0%
        RSSI / RSCP            : 0 (-113 dBm)

    I believe APN it is Cellular

    But Provider Name it is empty... but when I create the profile on the windows desktop Provider Name show vodafone ES

    So... say that,

    I have started another way... and that it is more useful for me it this way have more possibilities... In place to create a profile, can be possible write a UWP to connect my MBB...

    I am coding based on this sample

     var modem = Windows.Networking.NetworkOperators.MobileBroadbandModem.GetDefault();
                    Windows.Networking.NetworkOperators.MobileBroadbandDeviceInformation modemDeviceInfo = modem.DeviceInformation;
                    Windows.Networking.NetworkOperators.MobileBroadbandPin simpin = modemDeviceInfo.PinManager.GetPin(Windows.Networking.NetworkOperators.MobileBroadbandPinType.Pin1);
                    switch (simpin.LockState)
                    {
                        case Windows.Networking.NetworkOperators.MobileBroadbandPinLockState.PinRequired:
                            var enterPinresult = await simpin.EnterAsync("5806");
                            if (enterPinresult.IsSuccessful)
                            {
                                //Sim unlocked";
                            }
                            else
                            {
                                //"Attempts remaining: " + enterPinresult.AttemptsRemaining.ToString());
                            }
                            break;
                        default:
                            break;
                    }

    If it is possible by c# code to setup the mobile broadband modem, it will more positive for me

    I believe with this option i have unlocked the SIM...

  • I found a solution using code, and it works...

    MobileBroadbandModem lMobileBroadbandModem = MobileBroadbandModem.GetDefault();
                    if (lMobileBroadbandModem == null) return false;
                    MobileBroadbandDeviceInformation lMobileBroadbandDeviceInformation = lMobileBroadbandModem.DeviceInformation;
                    if ((lMobileBroadbandDeviceInformation == null) || (lMobileBroadbandDeviceInformation.PinManager == null)) return false;
                    MobileBroadbandPin lMobileBroadbandPin = lMobileBroadbandDeviceInformation.PinManager.GetPin(pMobileBroadbandPinType);
                    if (lMobileBroadbandPin == null) return false;
                    switch (lMobileBroadbandPin.LockState)
                    {
                        case MobileBroadbandPinLockState.PinRequired:
                            var lMobileBroadbandPinOperationResult = await lMobileBroadbandPin.EnterAsync(pPIN);
                            if (lMobileBroadbandPinOperationResult.IsSuccessful) return true;
                            else return false;
                        case MobileBroadbandPinLockState.PinUnblockKeyRequired:
                            break;
                        default:
                            break;
                    }

    So I believe we should close it loop.

    If you need to alert to me about my decision. please tell me.

    If not we could close it

    Thanks!!!

  • Hello JGO -JorgeGO,

    At the moment, there is no command or script can unlock the SIM. So the code you provided is fine.

    Best Regards,

    Michael
