    How many characters can you save in one Microsoft Office customproperty of type Text?

  • Do you mean a CustomDocumentProperty? If so: 255 characters. If you assign a longer string to such a property, it is truncated to 255 characters.

    Take a look at the similar forum thread which states the following:

    In theory is up to 65280 Unicode characters. They don't get saved in the document though, you would have to put it into some custom XML and retrieve it later when opening the document. When using code to write to document properties they've always had a limit of 255 characters.
