    Hi,

    I'm looking for an introduction to using Expression Blend for Metro app development using C++/XAML or C#/XAML. I'm experienced in Windows programming in MFC, but I never got involved in using WPF or Silverlight, so I don't have any XAML layout experience to draw on. I've got no problem with the basics, it's how to take full advantage of the layout tools I need some guidance on. Expression Blend looks like it can do lots of great things like animations and control customisation using styles and templates, but I haven't been able to find say a walkthrough that describes these things in the context of a Metro app. If anyone knows of such a thing, I would be grateful.

    Also, are there perhaps are any WPF or Silverlight demonstration resources that carry across? One WPF demo I've found is "Family Show". Would it be worth examining this in detail?

    Hi Robert,

    Take a look at the tutorials and videos at http://blendinsider.com (the Blend team's official site).

    WPF and Silverlight Blend demonstrations and tutorials will likely be useful. While the small details of the controls will be different, the overall concepts are the same and I suspect many tutorials for common controls will work essentially unchanged.
