Setup completed with warnings RRS feed

  • Question

  • i am using Visual Studio Enterprise 2019

I got a message from Microsoft Visual Studio that there is an update available to version 16.5.0

I tried to install the update and when it was completed the message I got was:

    "Setup completed with warnings"

I cannot use any project, it is not displaying anything.

I uninstalled Visual Studio and restarted my computer, then reinstalled  and still I get the message "Setup completed with warnings". I am stuck!

Please respond quickly how to put things back into place.

  • Hi

I am in the same boat - an online chat with MS said there was an issue with version 16.5 and that I should revert to version 16.4 and gave a link. However, the link resulted in the installed always trying to install version 16.5 agin and of course failing. I had tried all of the usual things but nothing helped.

    Hi

    Just for completeness.

I managed to get version 16.5 to install correctly by using the'download all THEN install' instead of the default 'Install while downloading'.
