Problems Running SQL Server Clustering and Database Mirroring Together RRS feed

  • Question

  • We implemented SQL Server 2005 Clustering and Database Mirroring together. We established a mirroring session in which the Principal resides on the clustered instance of a cluster and the Mirror resides on a separate, stand alone unclustered computer.

    1. When mirroring was turned on, the Vignette application(which is supported with SQL Server on the backend)was not able to make connection to 3 of the 7 Principal databases that were Mirrored.

    2. However when mirroring was turned off the application was able to connect to the same 3 databases.

I will appreciate any advice or suggestion regarding the above problem. If any additional infomation is required please let me know. Thanks

  • Does Vignette support database mirroring as an option?

Also I assume you're NOT doing synchronous mirroring, right?

  • Are the 3 databases accessible? Any errors in error log? What is the size of the transaction log?
