Outlook class - MailItem Size property RRS feed

  • Question

  • Two questions:

    1) Is the Size property of a MailItem object the size of the in-memory object or the size of the raw received email?

    2) Does the Size property include the total sum including the attached files?

Answers

  • 1. A raw size with all properties.

    2. Yes, it does.

You can play with MFCMAPI or OutlookSpy for exploring item properties at runtime.

  • Thanks for response, confirming what I believed.  Strangely, the documentation isn't very specific so just wanted to make sure.
