is null

Question

good morning. I am not an expert but am building a data base for my cattle records.

in an older version of access I could use is null to produce a list of cattle not sold or not died.

I am trying to start again with this latest access version and is null now requires an expression.

but why and what expression.

It should work the same way in all versions of Access. The condition Is Null should be entered in the Criteria row of a query based on your cattle table. For example:
