Restart button

    Question

  • Has anyone realized how difficult it is to get to the restart button?

Here are the steps from my perspective.

    1. When in the Metro screen use the little guy at the upper right to say "Logoff"
    2. Double click on the mountanous splash screen 4 to 5 times until it obeys.
    3. Click on the button off button on the lower right.
    4. Choose "Restart" or "Shut-Down"

Oh, how I miss the days when we could go Start (button)/Restart

Again, there are dozens of threads about this already. There are a number
of other methods of doing this.

  • First I goo...  sorry binged it, then I reviewed the related questions which came up when I asked the question.  None of the methods I saw were satisfactory.

If you are going to be insulting why not just ignore the question?

You're interpreting my post as being insulting, that's up to you. I simply
stated a fact, not really sure how stating the fact that there are already
dozens of threads on this issue could be considered to be insulting.

This forum is already high volume and repeated threads on the exact same
subject don't help anyone. If I had a direct link to some of the other
threads, or the time to hunt them down, then I would have posted them.

  • And if I had read a satisfactory answer I would not ask the question.

  • Thank you TrekDozer, that was helpful.  However it is still twice as many clicks as Start/Restart.

  • And if you are using touch instead of a mouse the restart, sleep, and shutdown buttons are too close together.  About half the time I try to touch restart and get sleep.  Bigger icons like the old XP shutdown screen would make it easier.
