  • Hi,

I wouldnt personally recommend installing windows 2008 R2 on a laptop even though you have quad core processor.
You have to install it on a server ( dell / hP). And in real world scenario , none of the org recommend you to install on a laptop and waste a license as the license is costly.

You need to have 64bit firmware

You can have a check at the below site

  • If the laptop has enough power/capability then why not? A bit difficult to lug a server around the airport and on the plane itself. Some of us have the license for nothing (almost). And it has taken the Admins folks 3 months to even get us a "server". 3 months twiddling thumbs for 8 people will pay for the license I am sure in less than a week.
