Certified for Windows Vista Logo test RRS feed

  • Question

  • Has anyone worked through the sample Certified for Windows Vista test cases?

The setup for the tests advises to install your application under a partial trust user (S.16 - LogoUser1). A partial trust user who belongs to the Users group doesn't have write access to %SystemDrive%\Program files to install. An install package would require administrative rights to install to this location.

Is there an error in the document?

    Thanks

  • Did you ever figure out how to handle this?  I'm just starting to test my app and I'm encoountering the same issue.

  • According to the testing folks, you just have to include in your installation instructions that you'll have to provide appropriate credentials during install to allow for the creation of the folder within "Program Files".

Seeing as my application is now Vista Certified, I guess they were correct.
