Scaling a custom ui ribbon RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created a custom ribbon tab for an Excel workbook. Have added many groups to the tab so you have to click on the > arrow button on the right to see all of them. The problem is the groups do not fit evenly in the ribbon when it is scrolled and a portion of the group on the far left is cut off. How do I make the groups display evenly across the whole ribbon? Some sort of scaling so they fit properly even when scrolling to the right or left would do.

  • Hi jbutler

Which version of Office are you working with?

The Ribbon in Office 2007 has no capability for scaling custom Ribbon parts. Office 2010 has added that capability...

Otherwise, you may need to replace some buttons with menus?

  • I'm using Excel 2007.

In that case I will just have to limit my groups to fit a full screen then continue with a new tab.

    Thanks for the info.
