Textbox.Focus not work after hide the software keyboard in the right bottom corner of Surface

    Question

  • Hi,

We set the Textbox.Focus(FocusState.Programmatic) to try show the Software Keyboard of Surface. The behavior is fine when we set the focus to another control to hide the keyboard. However, if we hide the keyboard as following screen picture shows, the next time we set the textbox focus, the keyboard will not show. Could you help?

  • There are no programmatic methods to hide/show the keyboard. The user is in control of this at all times. If you've found that it works sometimes, then you just got lucky.

NOTE: If I ask for code, please provide something that I can drop directly into a project and run (including XAML), or an actual application project. I'm trying to help a lot of people, so I don't have time to figure out weird snippets with undefined objects and unknown namespaces.

  • Then, why there is a property of PreventKeyboardDisplayOnProgrammaticFocus in TextBox?
