Using MS Word in C# application RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am planning to write RTF document from my C# application. I plan to use MS Word's interop feature to work with the RTF document.

The application is standalone Windows application. But I do not want to install MS Word on the machine that runs the application.

Is there any way I can work with Interop feature without having to install MS Word?

  • Hello Govind,

No! You cannot use Interop feature without Microsoft Word installed. Interop means the client application automate Office Word to finish a series of jobs/tasks. If Word is not installed, then task executer is absence.
