How To Bulk Add Additional Records into SharePoint 2007 Forms Library RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Have an existing forms library with a web based infopath form.

I have a requirement to add about 1000 new records from SQL to the library. My problem is I can add the records to this library but I can't figure out how to add the infopath form for each of these 1000 records so when I select edit the infopath form loads with the associated data.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Terry

  • It's fairly easy if you're ok with writing some .Net code. There's a sample on how to do it here: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/sharepoint/InfopathForm.aspx.

The basic steps required are to

-Save your form as source files, this gives you a .xsd file with the schame for your form data

-Generate a class from the schema with the xsd command line tool

-Write your code to create an object from the class and populate it with the data from SQL

-Serialise the object and write it to the SharePoint library.
