Error signing the assemblies of c# project in VS2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,
I purchase a code singing certificate from Comodo.

I have followed their instructions ans exported the p12 file to pfx.

I have signed the click-once manifests without any errors.

While trying to sign the assembly i am getting compile errors:

    A. Cannot import the following key file: xxxx.pfx. The key file may be password protected. To correct this, try to import the certificate again or manually install the certificate to the Strong Name CSP with the following key container name: VS_KEY_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    B. Importing key file "xxxx.pfx" was canceled.

I have tried to overcome this error by the following steps but it didn't work:

    1) Without closing VS open command prompt as Administrator
    2) Execute "sn -d VS_xxxxxxx" with container name from error message
    3) Execute "sn -i xxxxx.pfx VS_xxxxxxx", enter password when prompted

I have noticed that even if i uncheck the signing assembly check box (as in the screenshot) i still getting these errors on compilation..

    Please advise,

    Thank you,
