authenticate the users outside the premises on an internal domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • dears

we have an internal domain that we use to authenticate our users internally and we use another domain for our website and emails on the internet.

now we need to have the ability to authenticate the users when the are outside the premises and also to have a self service portal. we have a trial subscription on azure AD premium. now should we register our internal domain on the internet or is there another way to do that?

    thanks

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your post.

You would need to verify your internal domain user for authentication of users in your Azure Active Directory Tenant.

Please find Vittorio's Blog on Adding a Custom Domain to your Azure AD. Also, the documentation on Adding your domain name to Azure Active Directory.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

Technically, you can register any name in inside Azure. It doesn't have to be same as your internal domain name. However, it has to be publically routable.
