delete a form

    Question

  • I created a windows form in visual studio 15 but I want to delete it and all evidence it ever existed. It seems to come back to haunt me so I am sure I did something wrong. I am a real newbe so sure would like any advice you can offer.

  • Hi cyberal,

    Thanks for your post.

Why did you want to delete the form separately? If you delete the form only, the code will still exist in .cs file.

So if you don't want to use this windows form application anymore, I suggest you'd better create a new windows form application instead of deleting the form only.

  • You create a Form?

Do you mean you added a Form to a Windows.Forms project, a secondary or tertiary Form, and now you want to remove it from the project?

Or do you mean you wrote code that creates a Form?

If you wrote code that creates a Form then delete the code.

If you mean you added a Form to a project that already has a main Form then I believe you can delete the added Form in Solution Explorer by right clicking on it and deleting it as long as it is not the main Form although I've never done that. Perhaps the main Form could be deleted if other Forms are available in the project but I don't know for certain.

I don't know what "It seems to come back to haunt me so I am sure I did something wrong." means since you provide no explanation really and guessing isn't really productive in responses to questions.

Or just delete the entire project folder and begin again.
