  • Question

  • hi

I have a scheduled repolicaiton to run over night. last night it
kicked off and has been running ever since (11 hours now).
These 3 entires just keep appearing event in the distributor to subscriber histor and continue to do so.

    initializing
processing is running and is waiitng a resonse from the server
    query timed out.

The database which it is trying to replication is fine, its running and another
replication i have (continious) is working fine.

    any ideas what this indicates?

  • use profiler to determine what is occuring on the subscriber. You can also use sp_who2 'active' to determine the spid for the replication process and then use dbcc inputbuffer(spid) to determine exactly what it is doing.

You should kick everyone off your subscriber database when the snapshot is being applied. You may also need to kick everyone off it if you are replicating a large batch operation.
