SQL Server Windows account password change RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have some SQL Server instances (both 2012 & 2014 version). Recently for security reason all the Windows account password has to be changed. SQL server software was installed using windows account 'SQLDBA' user. SQL server database service, analysis service, integration service are running under this windows account.  If we change the password of windows account 'SQLDBA' then will there be any impact in database service?

  • Hi,

Yes there will be impact, All SQL related Services which are running under that domain account may stop. You Must update new password and restart SQL services or Resources if managed via cluster.

    Cheers!!
