can shrink and address fields on a report

i have 5 address fields (textboxes) on a report vertcially below each other. some of these may be blank so i want these to be shrunk so the address appears in one "block" withiut gaps. i have set all the textboxes to be CanShrink = True but this doeesnt seem to work. what am i doing wrong?

You have to set the row visibility. Add an expression to set the visibility to hidden if the value is null
