SSOSettingsFileReader.dll Issues in BizTalk Server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Experts,

I just want an advice on the debugging steps. We have recently deployed 10-15 applications in QA and we are using BTDF.

All of a sudden all the applications started failing in BizTalk QA environment with the below error. (All applications using settings file to read some configuration)

Could you suggest on what could be the cause ?

    Thanks, Varun

  • Hello Varun,

Using IL Disassembler on the SSOFileReader.dll determine exactly what version of SSOClient it is referencing. It might be a case on where the BTDF is referencing different version of SSOClient. Try to use a stable version of BTDF.

The Deployment Framework for BizTalk targets many versions of BizTalk. In the last few BizTalk Server releases, Microsoft has changed the SSO DLL's in every release. As a result, the Deployment Framework includes several versions of its own SSO client DLL (SSOSettingsFileReader) to match the various BizTalk DLL versions.

When you install the Deployment Framework, it examines the currently installed version of BizTalk and installs the SSO DLL that works with that version. If you then upgrade to another version of BizTalk, and you do not reinstall the Deployment Framework, you are out of sync. That's why reinstalling solved your problem.
