How strong is the encryption on inbound and outbound connectors? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am planning to set up inbound and outbound connectors With other coorporations that we communicate a lot with. I have read that Exchange only supports 128-bit encryptions and I think this is wierd as I have been told that the TSL-sertificate supports 2048-bits encruyption. We use Exchange 2010 SP3 front end.

  • Could you please share the source of information ?

In my understanding 2048 bits should work fine.....I validated with one of my clients and they were using RSA 2048 bits for OWA !!

  • It is this thread at a Norwegian bulletin board where someone wrote the Exchange server only supports 128bit encyprion. I tnkink that sounds wierd because the digital certificate itself supports 2048 bits encryption.
