How to turn off automatic '/' deletion? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey everyone,

    So I have the following code:

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="global/styles.css" type="text/css" media="screen">
    and every time I save the file, Expression Web 3 will change "/global/styles.css" to "global/styles.css", without the slash in front of "global". I need the slash to access a CSS file from a higher directory. I've tried to search for an answer or workaround to this but obviously it's rather difficult to phrase the search terms to give relevant results. Currently I am having to manually edit the code from Notepad after saving it in Expression Web, which is getting slightly tedious. I've checked the editor options and can't seem to find anything about auto-correcting this. (Hopefully this isn't some ridiculously trivial issue and I'm just making myself look like an idiot :P). Anyone have any ideas?

  • The original Expression Web 3 and earlier does not support root relative links but EW 3 SP 1 and later does so you need to update to Service Pack 1 for EW 3 or if your copy of Expression Web 3 is the retail version you can upgrade to v4 for free.
