Can't Install the Latest (March) Update to VS2015 Community

    Question

  • I have installed the latest update on a windows 10 and windows 7 computer which
already had VS2015 Community installed.  I cannot install the update on a
second windows 7 computer which has the same VS2015 installed.

I keep getting a Crash: OutofMemoryException.  I've tried many things to
overcome this and have not succeeded in getting the update installed on
this one computer, which happens to be my main development machine.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi AI Testani,

Please check your Visual Studio Community 2015, whether it has installed Update 1? If not, please try install the Update 1 first. Then install the Update 2.

If have installed Update 1, please try repair your Visual Studio Community 2015 first to check whether there has any problem in your original installation. And please run your installer as administrator, which can make sure installer has all permissions to do any operations.

In addition, please use http://aka.ms/vscollect  to gather the VS and .Net Frameowrk installation logs. After using it, you will find vslogs.cab from %temp% folder. Please upload the file to Onedrive and share the link here.

    Best Regards,
    Weiwei
