  • Question

  • Hello Everyone !

I have created WcfService and its working fine .

when i'm going to host this service into IIS its throws me an error

    like

HTTP Error 404.3 - Not Found

The page you are requesting cannot be served because of the extension configuration. If the page is a script, add a handler. If the file should be downloaded, add a MIME map.

    So Please help Me out!!!!!!

    Thanks . Rajesh Kumar email-Id :rkumar1904@hotmail.com

What it means is that IIS doesn't know what SVC extension type is so it can select the DLL to run a WCF service on IIS. Based on what version of IIS you have, you will need to set the MIME type a Handler Mapping for a SVC type.  You may also need to register the .Net Framework with IIS too.

You can use Bing or Google to look it up based on what version of IIS you have on the computer.

Just so you know, that doesn't work on IIS 8. You have to do it through Add/Remove Windows Features. There is a big old message stating aspnet_regiis hes been depreciated for IIS 8 when trying to use aspnet_regiis.
