EV signatures for Windows 10 drivers RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a working driver for Windows 7 and up (x64 and x86).

I've been signing for a while with non-EV signatures and have recently switched to EV SHA-256 signatures. On all the test computers this works fine.

However, some customer computers have had "Error 52" (signature not verified). On Windows 7 that means I need to install the SHA256 signature KB3033929 fix.

On Windows 10 this can also occur and I haven't been quite able to understand why. Any pointers to what I need to do to ensure I'm properly signed?

I'm not interested in having the driver in WHQL certifications.
