First check Installing and Using watchOS in Xamarin , after you have created a solution following the link ,you will have 3 projects .

    • The iOS Parent app .
    • The Watch Extension .
    • The Watch App.

Here you should be able to run the Watch App now .

    Follow the Steps:

    1. Right-click on your Watch Extension project and choose Set as Startup Project.

    2. Set the Deployment Target to a Watch Kit-compatible simulator image (such as iPhone 6 iOS 8.2).

    3. Press the Debug button to trigger a build and simulator launch.h Extension project and choose Set as Startup Project.

    Refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/xamarin/ios/watchos/get-started/hello-watch?tabs=macos .

I had device working( without debugging) for 2 days.

The extension project is not selectable for me in visual studio for mac. I already had a xamarin forms and added watch to my solution And it is not possible to:

Right-click on your Watch Extension project and choose Set as Startup Project

There is no such option for me in visual studio for mac, only on the watch project - not watch extension project.
