SQL Server & SQL Agent service account settings RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm finishing up an install, but can see that the SQL Server and SQL Server Agent services currently run under the Local System account.

    SharePoint is installed.

Question is: Can I just create a new SP_SQL account, and then change the two services' accounts to this user, without breaking stuff?

    Anyone?

  • Hi,

First add the SP_SQL account as sysadmin in SQL Server. Change the Service Accounts with the SQL Server Configuration Editor and your done. Remember, that when you use Kerberos you have to enable kerberos for that service account and SQL Server.
