Creating Windows store app application with dll RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

    I am trying to create an Windows store app application(UI), which will communicate to Normal Win32 DLL(All the APIs will follow as per the requirement availble in this link). http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/br205757.aspx

    Before step into coding section, I would like to confirm whether this approach will work or not. or Should i need to create any Class library and then tailor with dll?

    I mean,

    Approach 1: Store app(UI) <-> DLL

    Approach 2: Store app(UI) <-> Class library <-> DLL

    I would like to run it on Windows RT. I may be asked this question before, but still i didnt get clear picture. So posting it back to make my self crystal clear.

    Thanks and regards,

  • Any standard Win32 DLL which does not contain any restricted API is supposed to be consumed by Windows Store Apps. Follow the instruction DLLs (C++/CX).

    You can create a sample Store App (UI) which can consume your DLL. Then you may call some API form the DLL and finally  validate your sample app as Windows Store apps via App Certification Kit.
