Visual Studio 2013 against LightSwitch 2011 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

Is it possible to use Visual Studio 2013 to edit and deploy a VIsual Studio 2010 (LS 2011) application?  Or, do I need to have VS 2010 on my machine?

    Thanks,

    Dave

  • Hi Dave, I would say it isn't possible as you will not be able to open the LS project. VS2013 would also not have the right LS libraries to compile the project, even if you were to only make changes outside of the LS project. I also have one of those that I need to upgrade at some point.

  • Xander is correct.  You can't open a LightSwitch 2011 project with VS 2013.

  • Thanks Xander.  I figured that was the case but just wanted to run it pass the experts.
