  • Question

  • My company is trying to integrate our HealthVault enabled services with a partner company. They are also using HealthVault for their users, would it be possible to bypass the second sign-in screen if we have already have a HealthVault authentication on our side of the integration? In otherwords, at our website, we have a successfully authenticated HealthVault user. We want to pass that user along to the partner app which also uses HealthVault. Is there a way to bypass the second login screen to prevent the users from having to log in twice?

    Thanks,
    Tim.

  • One way is to leverage the following feature on windows live authentcation (specifically, this wont work with open id based Healthvault authentication)

If the user who is authenticated (only for live authentication) against application A,  is redirected for authentication against application B within 5 minutes of doing the authentication against application A, he wont have to enter the user name and password again.

So, if you authenticate the user and immediately redirect him to the other application, the other application can receive its wctoken without the user having to enter his username/password again.  (but he will be required to app auth the other other application the first time)
