share buttons on a site for facebook, twitter etc

It seems several ways to attach the share buttons for “facebook, twitter, e-mail, and favourites” on a web page. I am confused. What is the right way to do and how can it be done?Monday, December 27, 2010 11:42 AM

Thank you Mike, I am thinking about using from the website: http://www.addthis.com/ . It provides in one shot about 327 buttons of Book mark and share. A simple Client API code based on JavaScript is easy to copy and paste.
I've only spoken with (well, communicated with online ;-) a couple of people who have used this, and they like it because of the ease of use and the analytics. Being a large fan of doing things the easy way, if I were going to add these links, I would probably use addthis.com to do it. Just FWIW... ;-)
cheers,
scott

Siva,
I would think that the right way is the method that produces your desired result in a way that will be obvious to the end user and will take them where you want them to go. In any browser that the end user may chose to use. And that will be accessible to physically impaired
I have used CSS and Sprites method (Google it) and simply saving images / icons from a google search and laying them out and attaching appropriate hyperlinks. An example of the last method is here EWD NET please note this site is a learning project for me and is not up for critique. Also the RSS feed link does not have a link attached.

I got curious and found a Sprite Generator it's cool and FREE SPRITE GENERATOR
