Fail to start MFC application with error code C0000135 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am trying to run an MFC application inside a Windows container and when running from command line nothing happens and there is no log entry in the Windows event log.

I have started the application under CDB debugger and identify the exit code is C0000135, which seems to be: "The program can't start because %hs is missing. Try resintalling the program".

In addition to being written in C++, the application runs .Net as well as Delphi and COM.

Is there any suggestion on how to continue?

Is there a way to view the screen inside the container? (RDP seems to be disabled)

  • Hi Eyal,

Where does the application run right now?  For example, does it work on ServerCore 2016?

Is the app web-based?  Containers support back-end/non-GUI processes, but no GUI.  This is why RDP is disabled - there's no desktop in a container to view.  All management can instead be handled via command line.
