GetIntegratedDisplaySize API call refused by Store certification RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to submit an update to our app in the store (Application ID 9NBLGGH2WNWH). The new update would involve our first Windows 10 Universal App. The certification (Test ID: 91b4ece1-c57d-404b-aa18-89c4350e7545) however failed with a strange error. We're using an API call named GetIntegratedDisplaySize that the certification says not valid for our type of app. It's quite a strange issue, since:

    a) The API should be available for any UWP apps according to the online documentation (MSDN):

    https :// msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dn904185%28v=vs.85%29.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

    b) It is used by one of the official Microsft UWP samples called XamlTailoredMultipleViews:

    https :// github.com/Microsoft/Windows-universal-samples/tree/master/Samples/XamlTailoredMultipleViews

More specifically, it's used in this .cpp file of that sample:

    https :// github.com/Microsoft/Windows-universal-samples/blob/master/Samples/XamlTailoredMultipleViews/cs/TailoredMultipleViews/DisplaySizeHelper/DisplaySizeClass.cpp

    c) And the Visual Studio 2015 offline validator (Windows App Certification Kit 10.0) never complained about this being an issue.

We very carefully use the new UWP APIs, and that's why we're stunned by this error. Please let me know if this is an issue about your online validation/certification system, and if it is, then when can we expect it to be fixed.

Or maybe the API call is not available for regular apps? If that's the case, then I'm wondering why it is used by an official UWP sample? :)

    Thank you for your time.

  • Hello Tamas,

I went over this with Derrick and we are going to look into this further. What we need to determine is what is happening with the package that was uploaded and then we can provide you with the next steps.

  • Thanks a lot, Eric! BTW, awesome support so far. I never expected you jumping on this issue in such a short timeframe, considering you could be very busy with finalizing Windows 10 Mobile. So BIG respect!
