SQL database files replication with DFS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Now, I'm using SQL Server 2008 R2. That SQL server is running on Windows Server 2008 R2.

Can I replicate SQL Server Database files using DFS(Distributed File System) ?

If anyone knows about that , pls let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

  • hi There,

I would like to know the answer as well because a centralized iSCSI (disk quorum) is only redundant from hardware level and if the entire SAN goes down then the entire SQL cluster goes down.

Does anybody from Microsoft know the answer?

  • No, you can't replicate database files using DFS.

The quorum disk can be replicated and is when you are using a majority node set.
