Installation Sequence RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

As I broke the Compact 7 installation, I am formatting my PC and reinstalling the Compact 7 again.

Just wanted to make sure the following sequence is correct.

    • VS 2008 Professional Full Installation
    • VS 2008 SP1 from following URL: http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/confirmation.aspx?id=10986
    • Expression Blend 3
    • Compact 7 with ARMv5, ARMv6, ARMv7, CTK, English Documentation and Shared Source Options

Let me know if my installation sequence is wrong

    Regards,

    GSR

  • The sequence is correct, AFAIK.

If you want to download VS2008 SP1 ISO, download from here : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=13276

  • Your installation order is fine. Make sure that all updates are installed for platform builder as well, but that should be part of the WEC7 installation...

  • I had followed the sequence that is given in my first post and found its working. I have one question here to use updates. To install updates guess one has to register the product. So the question is if I register now, at later point of time the installation on my machine might be installed and being used by some one else in the company for their development. Will they be able to register the product and install updates at that time? Thank You for your time. Regards, GSR

  • I don't think you'll run into issues there
