How to get Excel 2013 Add-in option in VS2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I just installed VS 2013.  When I start a new project, I do not have an option to select Excel 2013 Add-in.   I have VSTO 2010 runtime installed.  How can I get the Excel Add-in template in VS2013?

  • Hello Raja,

What .Net framework version did you choose in the wizard?

Is it .net framework 4.0 or 4.5?

  • Hi Raja,

In addition to Eugene's question, what is Visual Studio 2013 version?

According to Upgrading and Migrating Office Solutions:

Office projects in Visual Studio 2013 can target only Office 2013 and Office 2010 applications. If Office 2013 is installed, Visual Studio modifies the project to target Office 2013. If Office 2010 is installed, Visual Studio modifies the project to target Office 2010. If neither version of Office is installed, Visual Studio 2013 does not upgrade the project.

    Have you installed Office 2013?
