    Dear experts,

I'm facing one problem with crystal report viewer. which is developed .net 2005 as class library.

    myCRviewer.dll

Registered this dll using Regasm as follow:

    C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\regasm "c:\cr\myCRviewer.dll" \tlb \codebase

    Hence .tlb created&regsistered sucessflly.

Calling method from myCRviewer.dll via referenced this .tlb in VB6.0 working perfectly where ever .net 2005 installed machine.

But it is not working if .net 2005 not installed machine.

Please guid me to rectifying this issue.

    Cheers,

    Asan

When you say ".NET 2005", you are referring to the .NET Framework version 2.0, correct?

If this is the case, the resolution is to install version 2.0 of the .NET Framework on your client machine.  Since this is a .NET DLL, it has to have the .NET Framework available for it to work.

If he is trying to use his application on a production server, then he would not want to install Visual Studio on the server.  Additionally, there are several DLLs that come with Crystal Reports .NET.

However, there would be some consideration for installing just the CR.NET DLLs on your production server.  This should be an installation option with Visual Studio, though it will only install the Crystal Reports files needed and install them into the GAC on the server.

I agree with some points, but if it is prudction server, it is unlikely letting us to install into GAC. You better communicate with third party.

    Just look into this,

Let me clarify: When I say "production server", my meaning is that this is a server fully controlled by user and is not an ISP-based website.  In this case, the user would have full access to the server since it would be internal to them.

You are correct, however, if we are talking about a hosted web application where the CR DLLs would need to be placed in the bin folder of the web application.
