share xsd between projects RRS feed

  • Question

  • Am I able to share/access xsd in different projects in a solution? If so, how do I do it. If not, what are the other options.

What I intend to do is have the xsd in the DAL project and have the business logic checkings/validations in BLL project.

Also: have you added a reference to the DAL in your BLL project?  If you do, you should have access to the Typed Datasets, no?  Not totally sure, I'd have to review one of my applications/solutions to be certain on that.

  • Hello tsluu,

    Thanks for your post.

jamesfreddyc has given you helpful suggestion. As far as I know, you could create a data access layer which contains the dataset, and then reference it from the other projects. Below link describes four detail steps about how to create a completely generic data access layer in VB.NET. Please check and hope it helpful.

In addition, I recommend you could repost on XML and the .NET Framework Forum which mainly discusses about the processing of XSD using .NET frameworks.
