Charts not displaying when report deployed to SSRS 2012 on Windows 2008 R2 Standard SP1 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    My test environment is a notebook : Windows 7 64-bit, SSRS 2012 64-bit, IE 9 64-bit. I am local administator.

My production envrionment is Windows 2008 R2 Standard 64-bit, SSRS 2012 64-bit. I belong to local administrators on this server.

I am able to view chart reports in IE 9 when report is deployed to the test environment. After deploying the same to the production environment, the browser only shows placeholders for pictures.

My account has access to the Temporary Internet Files folder in the production environment. I have been able to empty this folder directly.

    Please help.

    S

  • Hi Sesostris,

Based on the current information, the issue may be related to the Internet Explorer settings or the compatibility between Report Manager and IE. At this time, I suggest that you check the result in IE Compatibility View mode. If it doesn't work, I recommend that you reset IE or update the current IE version to IE 9 in the production environment. If there are any third party browser installed, you can also check the issue on third pary browsers as well.

If the SQL Server Reporting Services version in the test environment is higher than the SSRS version in production environment, you might also try to upgrade the SSRS in production environment to the same version as that in the test environment. You can get the SQL Server versions information from the link below:
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Builds

    Hope this helps.

  • Hi There

Thanks for your posting. Can you please try to put your chart in rectangle and redeploy  and see if it makes any difference?

    Many thanks

  • Same problem (using IE9):

    Deploying on SSRS 2008 R2 + Windows 2008 R2 is working.

On SSRS 2012 + Windows 2012 is not working.

    Any help will be appreciated.

  • Hi,

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue. Deployment to SSRS 2008R2 works fine but to SSRS 2012 we don't get the charts.

    Dit you find a solution?

  • An additional note: it does not render on the pdf either. So I don't think its a client issue since the pdf is rendered on the server.

  • I just did a full Windows update on the server and now it seems to be working fine.

There was a report viewer update in it, so maybe that fixed it (KB2549864).

  • Thanks Stefan,

I have applied the update KB2549864. There were 2 install files part of this update one for visual studio (VS-SP1) and one for report viewer. I was unable to install Visual Studio update but the report viewer update has worked and fixed the problem.

Once updated restart the reporting server instance.
