VS 2005 crashes when designing and testing reports with Reporting Services 2005. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I'm having a lot of problems with my Visual Studio 2005 (with SP1) crashing and behaving oddly when I am working and specifically testing reports for Reporting Services.

    • Crashes occur when I preview a report, then try to print it; the report will often print, but then VS crashes and has to restart. Yesterday I had to restart VS at least 10 times... frustrating to say the least! I've used the report to MS button most times...
    • It seems that using previews can also cause VS to start behaving oddly, suddenly I can't use the arrow buttons to move fields etc.
    • Trying to close VS sometimes results in an error claiming that a modal window has to be closed first.
    • I use Visual Source Safe 2005 to store my projects

I'm using Windows XP with SP2, SQL Server 2005 with SP2 and have the machine updated from Microsoft Update regularly - Info from VS:

Anyone got any ideas/suggestions as to what I can do to remedy this?
