cellStyleXfs vs. cellXFs RRS feed

  • Question

  • Could some body explain, the difference between CellStyleXfs and cellXFs

Both are matrices of style, however I am not able to understand the difference between the two.

Also what are the numberformatIds recognized by Excel 2007 (i.e. numFmtID)

now I can understand that numFmtId = 14 signifies date.

    Regards,

    nk

  • Hi nk,

The information you are looking for is in section 18.8.30 numFmt (Number Format) of ECMA 376 First Edition Part 4.

"14" means that the content of the cell is interpreted (and formatted) as a date with the pattern "mm-dd-yy" aligned with your locale-specific settings.

For maximum interop with Microsoft Office, please make sure to consult http://www.documentinteropinitiative.org/ECMA-376/reference.aspx for everything you do - or at least when some Microsoft Office application behaves unexpectedly.

  • I just realized I made a wrong reference. The paragraph in question is 3.8.30 and NOT 18.8.30.

    I appologize for the mistake.
