Does windows support Wake-on-Lan without 3rd party tool? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed a windows 10 enterprise version. and

    1. open Wake-on-Lan in computer BIOS

    2. configure network card to enable WOL (refer to this document: http://superuser.com/questions/696894/rdp-wake-on-lan-in-lan-environment)

    3. by using tool wolcmd.exe of depicus.com, I can wake up my win10 machine. Then I can use mstsc.exe to remote connect to the win10.

    My question:

But I want to know is there any way/solution to wake up remote window without 3rd party tool? thanks a lot.

Answers

  • I am not aware of any way to send a wake-on-LAN packet from within Windows.
