C# and sql encoding RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using visual studio 2005 and its local sql database. Right now I have acolumn in table as varchar which tries to interpret the encoding by itself in the database.
Can I just store things in the database as plain text ?
Example store … as it is and not as ellipses.

Certainly. If you couldn't, the database would be pretty useless as that's a perfectly valid string of characters just like any other.
